Every tool here reads your tiles directly rather than asking you to count by hand. Most scoring calculators online are converters: they assume you already worked out the fan and the fu yourself, and they only turn that number into points. These tools start from the hand, match it against the patterns, and show you the reasoning.
This set follows Hong Kong mahjong, the variant most often played in Cantonese-speaking regions and the one this site is built around. If you have been searching for a mahjong calculator and finding only Japanese riichi tools, this is the gap they leave.

- Yes. Every calculator on this page is free to use, with no account and no download. The tools run entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded and nothing is stored.
- Which mahjong rules do the calculators follow?
- Hong Kong mahjong. This is the variant played across Cantonese-speaking regions, and it is the ruleset this site is built around. Japanese riichi uses different tile patterns and different scoring, so a hand that scores here may score differently in a riichi calculator.
- Do I need to know how to count fan or fu myself?
- No, and that is the point. Most mahjong calculators online are converters: they ask you to count the fan and fu yourself, then convert that total into points. These tools read the hand directly, work out which patterns it matches, and show the reasoning.
- Can I use these tools while playing on another site?
